New Home Warranty Standards review
The Texas Residential Construction Commission has a warranty standards working group to maintain and modify the new home standards used in Texas. Although the standards are very homebuilder friendly, the industry is continuing to request modifications to the document to futher erode protection for homebuyers.
If you are interested in reviewing the warranty standards and providing suggestions on how to modify them to help the consumer, please review the set of documents at http://www.trcc.state.tx.us/brochures/WarrantiesStandards/WarrPerfStand.htm

Texas Watch is a non-partisan, advocacy organization working to improve consumer and insurance protections for Texas families. Texas Watch's thousands of activists across the state make their voices heard to preserve their rights and protections. Texas Watch strives to provide a counter to wealthy special interest lobby efforts and ensure Texas laws reflect the true needs of Texas families and consumers.
Founded by Dan Lambe in 1998, Texas Watch has helped provide a platform for Texas consumers on insurance, nursing home resident protection, patient protection and consumer law issues in legislative and regulatory activities. Texas Watch members have provided testimony to legislative committees, participated in consumer legislative lobby days, testified in regulatory rule-making activities and spoken with media about consumer protection issues.
